New Mobile App, Jambrite For JAMB Students Unveils

A mobile solution, JAMBrite App, which is expected to give a sigh of relief for prospective candidates for the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) examinations, has been launched into the Nigerian market to support their preparation for entrance examinations into the tertiary institutions.
A former executive director of Skye Bank, Ms Abimbola Izu, the proponent of JAMBrite App, who gave the advice in Lagos at the weekend, assured that the mobile application would boost performance of students in their Jamb examinations
She noted that admission into tertiary institutions is the high point of most school leavers, however adding that statistics show that Nigerian tertiary institutions do not have the capacity to offer admissions to all intending students and this has been a source of concern to students and parents alike, as students scramble for the few spaces available in the higher institutions.
Her words: “In 2016 for instance, out of about 1.5m students that applied for placement, less than 30% were lucky to secure admission. This year, it is estimated that 2m students will apply for the limited spaces available. The odds thus seem to be getting higher yearly.”
Naturally, Izu stated, the anxiety of most parents and students hinges on securing a slot. She acknowledged that in actualizing this laudable goal, some parents engage private tutors for their children, while others enroll them at tutorial centers. “While these efforts are, no doubt, good, they are conventional forms of tuition and preparation. However, experience has shown that young people now learn faster with less conventional, creative, innovative and fun-learning tools.”
