Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and wife, Taiwo Obasanjo

One of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s wives, Taiwo Obasanjo, has stormed the Ikeja High Court to secure a court order to stop their son, Olujonwo Obasanjo’s wedding to one Tope Adebutu.
In a suit with number ID/262FPM/2017, Mrs. Obasanjo is asking the court to postpone the wedding of her son, which is slated for May 11 and 12, to a date beyond June1.

She identified her husband and father to the intended bride, Sir Kessington Adebutu, owner of the popular lottery business ‘Baba Ijebu’, as the defendants.

Mrs. Obasanjo, who accused the aforementioned of excluding her from the wedding preparations, further urged the court to declare that as the groom’s mother, she has parental rights to take part in decision making and selection of dates for her son’s wedding ceremony.

She further claimed to have also received prophesies and spiritual warnings that her son, who is turning  34 on June 1, must avoid elaborate celebrations before his 34th birthday,  so as to prevent any impending calamity from befalling him.

The suit, which is currently before Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the said court, has been fixed for hearing on April 10, 2017.
