How Hamburger, Oshodi’s NURTW Strongman Was Killed And The Mayhem That Followed

Following the shooting on Owode street, Oshodi, yesterday, Monday, May 29, 2017, which led to the killing of a prominent member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Chief Rasaq Bello, aka Hamburger, recent indications reaching InsideMainland have it that some residents and other passerby sustained various injuries during the incident.
According to Eyes Of Lagos source, the fracas that broke out between a faction loyal to late Hamburger and the camp of Samson Agbetoye, popularly known as Golden, led to some residents sustaining injuries.
“The loyalists of Hamburger stormed Ago Owu street, the base of Golden, where they staged a manhunt for him. During the shooting between the groups which lasted for minutes, two guys from Golden’s group were killed while another one from Hamburger’s camp was shot,” the source told InsideMainland
The source continued that “so many road users were wounded in the process and many vehicles, shops were destroyed. The situation is better imagined than witnessed. Due to the number of casualties, it is already a known fact that they will still fight again.”
Meanwhile, the incident has led to residents of Owode and neighbouring areas to flee their homes over fears of a reprisal attack by the fighting groups.
Efforts to reach the Lagos Police Spokesperson, Olurinde Famous-Cole for comments proved futile as at press time.
You will recall that Chief Rasaq Bello, popularly known as Hamburger died following gun wounds after he was shot during the local council primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, May 29, 2017.
Prior to his passing, Hamburger was chairman, Motorcycle Operators Association of Lagos State. He held the chieftaincy title of Akile of Ewuland and Akinrogun of Shogunle.
