Gunmen Kill Gov Ortom’s Economic Adviser

Some gunmen in the early hours of yesterday shot and killed the principal special assistant to the Benue State governor on Knowledge, Economy and Investments, Dr Tavershima Adyorough.
Dr Adyorough was killed by the gunmen who invaded his residence at BIPC quarters Nyiman Layout at about 12.30am  yesterday.
EYES OF LAGOS gathered that,  He was shot alongside his wife, who is currently on admission  at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
According to EYES OF LAGOS  findings, Reacting to the incident ,Governor Samuel Ortom described the killing as unacceptable and condemnable.
He asked security agencies in the state to swing into action so as to arrest those responsible for the dastardly act.
He said  Dr Adyorough was a competent and dependable aide who delivered on assignments with dedication and honesty.
The governor sympathised  with the immediate family of the deceased, the government and people of the state on the loss and pledged that he would support security agencies in apprehending the culprits.
He urged those with useful information that can lead to the arrest to make same available.
Confirming  the murder,   the Benue State  police public relations officer, Moses Yamu told our correspondent that the  command  received information in the early hours of Sunday   that a yet to be identified gunmen shot Dr Tavershima Adyorough and his wife at their residence in BIPC Quarters Nyiman, Makurdi.
According to Yamu, the police on arrival rushed the couple to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH)where the man was confirmed dead and the wife is currently receiving treatment .
He stated that five expended cartridges were also recovered from the the scene of the crime.
The commissioner of police, Bashir Makama, has ordered an immediate investigation to unravel those behind this heinous crime and assured members of the public that the perpetrators will surely be brought to book.
