“We mourn the bad leadership of Sogunro and the negative history he has brought to LASPOTECH with ‘Akara Elepo. May we never experience this kind of misnomer in LASPOTECH again,” were the words of a member of the striking Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu on the present protest rocking the institution.
Presently, members of the three Unions of the school – Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnic (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) – are holding a protest march at the Administrative Block of the school.
This is coming off the heels of a daily protest march embarked upon by the member of the Unions following the commencement of another indefinite strike on August 1, 2017.
Speaking to Eyes Of Lagos , a source said “we have maintained our stand to continue with the strike still our demands are met.”
Recall that  Eyes Of Lagos reported the ongoing strike action in the school and how academic activities have been crippled across the campuses of the institution.
Calls placed to the Deputy Registrar/ Information and Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr. Olanrewaju Kuye for comments were not answered as at press time.
