Lagos Taskforce Arrests 76 Hoodlums Terrorizing Oshodi And Iyana – Ipaja Communities

The operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce have announced the arrest of around 76 miscreants and hoodlums during a raid by the agency in Oshodi and Iyana – Ipaja areas of Lagos Mainland.
According to the agency, the suspects were apprehended during an enforcement operation tagged ‘Eradication of Criminal Hideouts’ carried out at midnight on yesterday, Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Amongst those arrested at Iyana-ipaja during the operations was a wanted criminal and a ring-leader of a notorious cult group ‘Omije Boys’ identified as Franklin Anyawun, the agency stated.
The suspect, Franklin Anyawun a resident of no. 11, Oremeji Street, Iyana-Ipaja was caught with bags of Indian hemp, the Taskforce said.
Upon his arrest, he confessed to being a ring leader of a notorious cult group known as ‘Omije Boys’ who specializes in terrorizing and dispossessing innocent members of the public of their valuable items at Iyana-Ipaja and its environs.
The suspect also told the Taskforce he sells illicit drugs to hoodlums around Oshodi, Fadeyi, Idi-oro, Mushin and Bariga.
In addition, another suspect, Olumide Sanni who specialises in snatching bags and phones around Railway-lines at Oshodi was arrested. The suspect told the agency he had been arrested thrice for different criminal activities around Oshodi.
Confirming the arrests, the Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, said the enforcement operation is a continuous exercise adding that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal, had directed that all the suspects be charged to court for prosecution.
